So you might have been wondering where I disappeared to last week, and the pic above will hopefully clue you in.
We have been celebrating in a big way for our oldest son’s graduation.
(While we homeschool the younger three children, Sam opted for public school in 7th grade and graduated from a local high school.)
We are beyond proud of that young man and hitting this milestone.
No one tells you when you take that newborn home that the years will fly and graduation happens before you can blink.
And I wish I could tell you all those years in between have been easy, but that would be untrue. But good things do come to those who endure and press on and see it through.
This graduation thing feels so final. It happened.
He did it! We did it! We made it to the finish line! Whew!
I have such mixed feelings about it too.
I am so proud and relieved to have it completed because graduating is no small feat these days.
On the other hand, I don’t know what is ahead for him. It’s terrifying to start letting go, knowing this is a rite of passage as he has been making the transformation into a young adult.
But God knows the plans He has for Sam. And we can rest in that.
We are blessed to be called his parents and be a part of this accomplishment. We love him so and know whatever is ahead, he will do well!
