Yes, I realize 7QT/SQT is suppose to be a Friday affair but it’s Monday. Shhh. Let’s just call this the “late edition.” The last week has been crazy busy – all the fun details are below!
I broke the cardinal rule of blogging. Consistency. Everything I read says “you must post regularly.” And I totally agree. I hate visiting a blog I follow and not see anything new for a while. So I ask for grace as I totally blew it last week and didn’t write a single thing!
We had so many good-byes to say this week. Lots of tears and emotion. I had lunch with my homeschool family/board. These ladies have done so much of life with me the last few years. And I already miss them! Then Nate had his last swim practice with his team. We are going to miss his coach and our swim family so much. Then we had dinner with dear friends who are also our neighbors. All I can say is good-byes are hard, y’all!
My house looks like a tornado came through and dropped boxes everywhere. And I mean everywhere. I do not think there is one room that is without a pile of boxes. And it keeps growing. Such is the moving life.
I finally finished “Lost” this week. And I still am unsure what I think about the season finale. My husband tells me to just get over it and consider it “great entertainment.” Anyone else watch it and have these feelings about the ending? My children just laugh when I walk by and say, “Hey, did you all know….??” My daughter (who I want it noted did NOT watch the series) keeps reminding me that she knew the ending because her friend told her and she would have been wiling to share but apparently I did not want to listen.
We spent the 4th with my sister-in-law and her family. We had a beautiful time. It included all the good food an Independence Day should – hamburger, hot dogs, potato salad, etc. I ate way too much. I think we all did! Plus the kids had silly string fight, water balloon fight, then fire pit s’mores and lighting off tons of firecrackers. Then we had to say good-bye knowing we would now be living 7 hours apart instead of 2 hours. More tears. I may have mentioned that good-byes are hard.
I’m terrible at taking photos. You should know my Instagram account only has like 3 pictures. Honest to God. Only 3. I went to look on my phone for pics to post from our week and there were none. It’s an area I apparently need to work on! So sorry for the picture-less post. I promise to do better!
Moving day is 4 days away. 4 days. Can hardly believe it. Everything is moving right along with closing on the house. The truck is rented. Family is coming to help load the truck. And I’m already dreading the biggest good-bye this week. Our oldest has decided to stay here with a friend and his family. He is working and plans to attend a local state college. I’m already crying about it. He keeps telling me I better not cry but that’s a piece of my heart right there and you can bet there will be loads more tears this week.
So that’s it for last week! Thanks for tolerating my lateness and my seeming inability to enter the 21st century and document our life with phone pics.
p.s. In case you were worried, I am happy to report that my neighbors plants survived last week. I was so relieved! I didn’t kill them! I’m beginning to think that I can venture out and get a cactus again…
